Business update - May 2026

Welcome to your May 2026 update, a landmark edition as we officially transition from the George Town Chamber of Commerce to Business East Tamar. This evolution represents our growing commitment to the entire Tamar Valley Region, ensuring our mission to support and protect local enterprise matches our regional reach. Along with our new identity, we are modernizing how we connect with a redesigned, user-friendly website launching early next financial year and the debut of our Why Leave Town gift cards in a convenient digital format to keep local spending right here in our community.

This month, we are also looking ahead to high-profile opportunities for our members, including the opening of nominations for the 2026 Business Excellence Awards and an upcoming networking event with Guy Barnett, the Tasmanian Minister for Small Business. From advocacy regarding the Liberty Bell Bay response to providing free specialized training for our vital NDIS and Aged Care sectors.
