President’s Report AGM- 20/03/2025

Website Launch – 30/05/2024:

We kicked off the year with a major milestone—the launch of our newly designed website. Our launch event on May 30th, 2024, marked a significant step towards enhancing our online presence and improving our member experience. The revamped site now offers easier navigation, updated information, and greater accessibility to resources. The positive feedback we've received so far reaffirms that this was a much-needed upgrade, and we look forward to continually improving this platform for our members and visitors.

Business Tas – 27/06/2024:

On June 27th, we hosted a Business Tas information session, an event focused on the services and support that Business Tas provide. It was heartening to witness the energy in the room as members engaged in discussions. This event has become a cornerstone of our efforts to support local businesses and we are eager to see similar sessions held throughout 2025.

My Support Link- The Hive - Platinum Member Event – 12/09/2024:

On September 12th, we held our My Support Link Platinum Member Event, an exclusive gathering designed to thank and recognize the key contributors to our community. It was a wonderful occasion filled with meaningful conversations, celebrating the outstanding commitment of our platinum members. Their continued support enables us to expand our offerings and serve the broader business community in a way that makes a real difference.

Business Excellence Awards – 31/10/2024:

An achievement of great proportion, we were proud to host the Business Excellence Awards on October 31st, 2025. This year, we issued 14 prestigious awards, recognizing outstanding businesses and individuals who have gone above and beyond in their respective fields. These awards not only highlight the exceptional achievements of our members but also serve as inspiration for others in the community to strive for excellence. It was an event to remember, and we are already looking forward to next year’s celebration.

Christmas Party – 05/12/2024:

The festive season was celebrated with our Christmas Party on December 5th, 2024 which was held at the Low Head Pilot Station. It was a wonderful opportunity for all our members to come together and reflect on the year gone by. We enjoyed a delightful evening of celebration, where we shared successes, connected with new faces, and strengthened the sense of community. This event marked the end of a productive year, and I look forward to continuing this tradition in the future.

Christmas Promotion – December 2024:

Our Christmas Promotion in December 2024 proved to be another fantastic initiative, drawing attention to our member offerings and giving a festive boost to the community. This promotion was an excellent way for us to support local businesses during the holiday season. The success of this initiative has encouraged us to consider new ways of promoting the fantastic products and services our members have to offer.

TCCI Information Session – 27/02/2025:

On February 27th, 2025 we held a TCCI Information Session. This session focused on employment relations and provided invaluable insights into the latest trends, business resources, and legislative updates for our members. The session was an excellent way for businesses to stay informed and prepared for the coming year, fostering an atmosphere of continuous learning and growth.

The introduction of Digital Why Leave Town Cards

The introduction of digital WLT gift cards occurred in 2024 and aims to support local businesses and encourage spending within the community. The digital gift cards provide a convenient and secure way for consumers to gift and support local businesses. By partnering with local shops, the initiative creates a new revenue stream for businesses and helps boost the local economy. The program will involve an easy-to-use digital platform for purchasing, sending, and redeeming gift cards. The next steps include reaching out to businesses for partnerships and launching a marketing campaign to promote the program.

Conclusion:

As we reflect on these key events, I am filled with gratitude for the dedication, energy, and passion that our office bearers and members have demonstrated. Each of these events represents our shared commitment to progress and collaboration. We have accomplished so much together and will accomplish even more in the coming year.

At the forefront of our minds is connection to the business community within the region. We are dedicated to delivering that strong support for local business that only comes from collaboration and the sharing of knowledge. We strive to increase membership, not so that we can flex our muscles in the mirror, but so that we can increase that sharing of knowledge and collaboration, and better champion the interests of businesses within this region.
